Almost Every Number Has a Continuum of b-Expansions
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Given , a -expansion of a real is a power series in base with coefficients 0 and 1 whose sum equals . The aim of this note is to study certain problems related to the universality and combinatorics of -expansions. Our main result is that for any and a.e. there always exists a universal -expansion of in the sense of Erd"os and Komornik, i.e., a -expansion whose complexity function is . We also study some questions related to the points having less than a full branching continuum of -expansions and also normal -expansions.
