Nonlinear feedback system stability via coprime factorization analysis

From MaRDI portal

A quite general approach to the stabilization of nonlinear systems is presented. The results given here, considering the factorization approach from an input-output point of view, represent the most general formulation currently available. The state space approach presented considers the most general formulation possible and is of interest mainly due to the way it illuminates the properties of the dynamical systems that are necessary to generate results similar to those of the linear systems. Specifically the need for a stabilizing state feedback map, and a stable state estimator for the realization of the plant is emphasized. The final section of the paper presents a specialization of the work which generates classes of bounded input stabilizing plants and controllers. This shows the means by which the general input-output results currently available may be applied to the stabilization of nonlinear systems.
