On second order sliding mode controllers

From MaRDI portal

This article deals with second order sliding mode controllers for nonlinear uncertain systems. Second order in this context means that not only the sliding variable but also its first derivative is controlled to zero, thus reducing chattering effects often appearing in sliding mode controlled systems. The authors present a collection of control algorithms for this purpose, discuss their performance and illustrate them by a number of examples. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0922.00035].
